# Farmos docker installation

Hello,

I installed docker and farmos with help from chatgpt.

docker ps  
CONTAINER ID IMAGE COMMAND CREATED STATUS PORTS NAMES

Although I can access the website, I’m not able to do anything without getting an error message. chatgpt concludes it’s demo version that is very restricted, and that I should reinstall. Meanwhile, I’d like to consult here to see if I can’t get it to work.

Here’s an example of what doesn’t work. I want to enter data. I go to Records/Assets. I click on Add Asset, then click on Add a new asset type. This leads to an error msg: Access denied. I have tried numerous things, all leading to error messages. Can you help or provide me with a procedure to resolve this issue.

This is somewhat intentional. It isn’t possible to add asset types through the UI. They must be added via modules.

Go to Setup \> Modules and install one or more asset type modules, and then you’ll be able to add assets of those types.

We don’t recommend using `latest` because upgrades require manual steps, so it’s recommended that you run a specific version and change that when you’re ready to upgrade.
