I’ve been working on how my workflow should be for using farmOS in crops.
Would be cool if the field could be selected based on location. Have not done any research on this yet, but should be possible.
Regarding GPS I just came across this.
Think I’ll dig into this eventually. According to the tutorial it seems quite easy to use geofence as triggers. Think it could be possible to even display field map on your mobile dashboard

Reminds me of a neat feature Field Kit v1 had… it would find “nearby areas” based on your current GPS point.

Cool,
Because my Node-Red instance for this application is running directly on the phone, Node-Red can grab the GPS coordinates directly. Of course there are many other ways to achieve the same.
@Symbioquine has something like this in the works for AssetLink too.

AssetLink isn’t ready for general use yet, but you’re welcome to check out the code for that proximity searching logic. Perhaps it can help jumpstart other implementations too

. Will definitely give it a look over, I’ve no issues with copying the smart kids homework.
