A bug in landscape mode?

When I try to open the Records menu on the sidebar, I am directed to the dashboard instead. This happens in landscape mode only (both on my tablet and my mobile phone). Does anyone else have this small but still a bit annoying problem? Suggestions?

No longer a problem

In the profile settings, I changed the navigation to “New Drupal Navigation”. Happy to see my records easily.

@Jhnps try clicking the arrow to the right of the “Records” menu item instead of clicking “Records” itself. There is no “Records” page so that item just takes you to the dashboard, but it has sub-menu items that can be expanded by clicking the arrow. I just tried this myself on Android in landscape mode and it works (but let me know if yours isn’t, and what phone/OS).

Cool! Note that this is an option provided by the Gin theme - not farmOS, so it may not be well tested. If anything breaks I suggest switching back to the default.

Thanks @mstenta !
Yes, default is better except that I can’t reach the records (for the moment).

Actually, there are no arrows in landscape mode. There are in portrait mode, and there it works regardless of whether I click on the arrow, the icon or “Records”. Correction: In portrait mode, it works as long as I click on the arrow (I guess that’s how it’s meant be). But there are no arrows in landscape mode.

I have tried on my Fairphone 4 (Android 13), and on a Windows 10 tablet, with the same, negative result on both. Maybe there s a setting that I’m not aware of.

Oh interesting - maybe that’s a bug in the Gin theme.

Would it be possible to take a screenshot and post it here?

Thanks for the operating system info. Can you tell me what browser you are using on each? Perhaps I can open an upstream issue in the Gin project with this information, if there isn’t one already.

Here is a screenshot from my phone in landscape mode, showing the arrow(s) where they should be. I have Android 16 with Vanadium browser (a Chromium derivative):

Question: do you see the arrows in portrait mode? Do they disappear when you switch back and forth to/from landscape?

@mstenta , on the tablet I have only tried Edge, and Chrome on the mobile.

Trying to upload a screenshot…

Yes, I see arrows in portrait mode. They disappear when I switch to landscape. When I click on “Records”, I see the submenu for half a second and then I’m automatically redirected to the dashboard.

Thanks! Curious: does it happen without dark mode enabled too? Just trying to think of variables…

Dark mode or light mode makes no difference.
