Multitenant module: group.type.farm

Hello everyone,
after a long time, I’ve picked up farmOS again from Italy.
I want to test the possibility of using multitenant. I need to write a small project that could take advantage of that module and the template module.
I’m testing locally.
Installed with Docker farmOS4 (with farmOS3 I can’t find the organization module, which I think is essential).
So I installed group and flexible permissions.
Then I installed multitenant: docker compose exec -e XDEBUG_MODE=off www composer require 'drupal/farm_multitenant'
I then ran docker compose exec -e XDEBUG_MODE=off www drush recipe modules/farm_multitenant/recipes/example_roles
It tells me 1/3 Installed Farm Multitenant module.
In GroupRoleStorage.php line 72: The 'group.type.farm' config does not exist.
So I try to create a farm in organization, and it actually tells me that the organization type is: farm.
I redo example_roles. It doesn’t work.
Do I need to create a group.types?

What’s missing?

Thank you

Hi @bonushenricus! :waving_hand:

You probably need to install the “Farm Organization” module (drush en farm_farm) - that is what provides the farm organization type… it sounds like that’s what’s missing based on “In GroupRoleStorage.php line 72: The 'group.type.farm' config does not exist.”.

Full disclosure: I haven’t used farm_multitenant or farm_template, so I probably won’t be able to help with those specifically, but please share your findings as you try them out!

Hi @mstenta :waving_hand:

farm_farm doesn’t seem to exist.
What am I doing wrong?
Actually, “organization_type” + template
would be sufficient.
I just need to show an application where we can enter data with a template for the different companies we might manage.
But I have farmos 3 and farmos 4 locally.
In farmos3, the template works, but not organization.
In farmos4, organization works, but not template.

Ohh yea - Organization entities were introduced in farmOS v4 (farmOS v4 (and v3.5) | farmOS).

As for Farm Template - that was still in alpha and I don’t think it reached a “finished” state, but I’m not 100% on the details. @gbathree has been working on his own version of the “template” concept recently, though. We talked a bit about it on the dev call today.

Curious: can you describe what you’re imagining when you say “with a template”?
