Jamie Gaehring (he/him) says:
I could give a lil update on Field Kit

Genna says:
Yes would love update!

Genna says:
Is there an example you can show for field kit connecting to a regular instance or does it not work like that? I was trying to log into field kit from my regular instance and couldn't get on

Paul says:
You would need to enable the Field Kit module!

Genna says:
I got in btw

Paul says:
https://farmos-demo.rootedsolutions.io/

Genna says:
sorry not into field kit

Genna says:
into safari lol

Genna says:
farmos in safari* so can share screen

Jamie Gaehring (he/him) says:
so maybe Genna would be a good candidate to try the demo site?

me says:
A persistent Field Kit demo site is a good idea!

me says:
I wonder if there should be a \"log in to demo site\" link on the login page of
farmOS.app
?

me says:
So folks who go to
farmOS.app
but don't have a farmOS instance can try it with the demo site.

me says:
πŸ‘

me says:
Might need to figure out what permissions are available in that scenario...

me says:
If you have \"write permissions\"

Paul says:
The demo site logs in with manager role by default. Is that what you mean?

mstenta says:
Do you have baby chicks @symbioquine? πŸ˜ƒ

me says:
Yeah

me says:
I should get better about muting when I'm not talking

mstenta says:
All good. It's a nice background πŸ˜ƒ

me says:
Ironically they're being quiet now that I've muted.

mstenta says:
Jumping back to my other call... will try to listen in here and there

mstenta says:

Nick (BOTL Farm) says:

Genna says:
I read that first as migraine lol
migrate is more cool though

Genna says:
also what is BOTL farm @Nick?

Nick (BOTL Farm) says:
BOTLFarm.com
AWA approved livestock farm in CT

Nick (BOTL Farm) says:
https://github.com/botlfarm/Installing_farmOS

Genna says:
So cool thanks for sharing Nick!

Jamie Gaehring (he/him) says:
round of intros?

me says:
Simplified one-liner that can be used to save Jitsi chat;

\```javascript
 "## Chat Transcript\n\n```txt" + Array.from(document.querySelector("#chatconversation").querySelectorAll("div.usermessage")).map(um => um.innerText).join("\n\n") + "\n```"
\```

Genna says:

And here’s a little teaser of where I’m at with the CLI tool for scaffolding modules for Field Kit:

Ideally once the field-scripts package was released on the npm registry, that first command could be replaced with something like…

npx @farmos.org/field-scripts create

…and then that would obviate the need to run the npm link command as well.

The create-module script is on this branch of my fork, if anyone wants to poke around in the source:
