I have tried various methods, and I know some work, but it is clunky to the max.
I tried assigning one or multiple group memberships to specific animal records, assigning in logs, using the group membership form, or just selecting them in the asset list and using the groups drop-down. Most of the time, it doesn’t work, and ignored multiple groups, or sometimes the entire thing. It creates logs of this, which means I have to go delete logs (because they say group changed, even though that’s not true).
I could be an idiot, but this time, I don’t think it’s me. Is there anything specific here that causes this? Some conflict?

Is the group assignment log marked as “done”? And does it have a timestamp in the past?
Group membership can change just like location, so the timestamp and status of the log is used in the membership determination logic.

Yes, “done” is marked.
I can do a log, or use the dropdown, etc, but in the end, everything remains in the previous state.
Will try all the methods again, paying attention to dates and states.
