I asked about this issue in the Drupal Slack, to see if anyone has any advice/experience/knowledge of this: Slack
Hmm I ran
drush locale:update
and it seems to have done the opposite of what I wanted…
Ah tried something new and it seemed to work (needs more testing to see if it works consistently): drush locale:check && drush cr
Ah although… something else is wrong now (and perhaps provides a new clue): the menu is translated properly when I view it as a user with that language (Norwegian), but if I switch to a user with English language, the asset/log names STILL appear in Norwegian in the menu!
Tried to change the translation for the “Land” asset again. It did not appear.
Installed a few modules. And now all assets and logs are appearing in English.
Who said it was supposed to be easy?
FYI I created an official bug report to track this menu translation issue specifically: Record type menu items lose translations [#3262752] | Drupal.org - I linked back to this forum topic and the GitHub issue where it also came up. I will continue documenting/debugging efforts there…
Finally got to the bottom of it! Fix will be included in 2.0.0-beta3.
Good job. Thanks again
