UK's Livestock Information Service (LIS) API and FarmOS integration

The UK’s animal movement service, for goats and sheep (and I think deer…) has moved over to a new service called LIS (From the old ARAMS system that looked like it had escaped from the 80s).
LIS has also released an API for integrating their service with various farm management software packages.
It might be an interesting project to integrate FarmOS with the LIS, sadly the API is just for movements off/on holding, rather than birhs/deaths etc - so the herd book side of LIS is inaccessible (which would be the most useful to my farm).
But if anyone is interested:
https://developers.livestockinformation.org.uk/
It works mainly on ear tag numbers, so would need a consistent approach to recording of ear tags for all animals on farm, with the format of the ear tag entered the same way. Could also include movements on holding to create new assets based off the incoming ear tag numbers.
I’ve only got 2 weeks, so probably wont implement this, but looks like it could be interesting for anyone UK based!
