I need a talented developer capable of creating an Android application focused on helping farm owners and workers input various agricultural activities directly into our established FarmOs database through a robust API integration.

Application platform bilingual (form in english or portuguese)

Core Features Needed:

  • Activity Input: Users should be able to log details of crop planting, harvesting, and grow monitoring. For each activity, the app must allow the entry of specific information including the activity’s location, quantity, and equipment Id (if possible with the use of RFID tablet reader).

  • Data Integration: The app must efficiently update this inputted information to the FarmOs database via API, ensuring data consistency and accuracy even since in not network available.

  • Authentication: Access to the app will be secured with an API key authentication method to ensure user data safety and restrict unauthorized access.

  • ** Open source **

It will be a data entry form, where the following will be entered:

  1. Equipment ID (option to use rfid, as barcode and if not entered manually by user)
  2. type of activity: Combo list that will have the types of possible activities (planting, monitoring seedling growth, harvesting, planting
  3. quantity in kilos (used in all types of activities)
  4. size *in centimeters, used exclusively in the monitoring activity type)
  5. Automatically captured date and time
  6. record

And a browser that will show the records made by the user in the current month

Ideal Candidate Skills:

  • Proficiency in Android app development
  • Solid experience with API integration and handling
  • Strong knowledge of authentication methods, particularly API key-based authentication for FarmOs
  • A plus for this, RFID tablet communication knowledge

  • Design and develop the Android application with a user-friendly interface
  • Implement a secure, reliable connection to the FarmOs API
  • Ensure the app’s functionality meets the requirement for activity logging and database updating
  • Incorporate API key authentication to safeguard the app

The ultimate goal is to have a tool that enhances the efficiency of recording farm operations directly into our system with minimal hassle.
