I assume you’ve seen my Getting started with farmOS blog post? These seem fairly similar. I was hoping to do a whole series of posts like that, but haven’t gotten back to it yet. It seems like we’re thinking along similar lines with regard to new farmOS users probably needing these hand-holding kinds of walk-throughs (both textual and video versions)
At a meta level, these videos make sense to me because I’m already familiar with farmOS, but I think for someone not yet acquainted with farmOS you’d need a higher-level overview video which links to these more detailed topics at the end.
In your technical terminology video, it might help to start with defining an “asset” and communicate that all the subsequent terms are attributes of an “asset”.
In your geometry video you show drawing several different geometries all at the same time. i.e. field boundary, water line, trees, etc. In farmOS by default you’d need to draw each land/water/etc asset separately as part of filling out the form for creating that asset (or a movement log for an asset). Maybe there’s an easy way to make sure your viewers know that they probably don’t want to put all their geometry in at once like that when they’re actually setting up their farm in farmOS. (Or if they do they’d need something like my Land Drawing Tool.)
these are all supporting videos. i would like to create videos only within 2 minutes. if i create videos with 2 minutes it won’t contains some crucial(interaction) steps. Therefore i started like this.
this is super sir.
initially i tried other idea (in tamil language). These was feel it’s not good for users. i dropped this idea.
