How can the FarmOS Organic module be expanded to pull in the USDA database information through its available API?
Within an Organic production system, operations need to verify that all suppliers and ingredients used in their end agricultural product have been properly certified to provide the ingredient in question. Verification steps by the operator should include interrogating the USDA Organic Integrity Database to ensure the supplier is certified AND that the purchased ingredient is properly listed in the suppliers certification. It would be really great to have FarmOS include a Supplier list capability that incorporated the USDA database information. Ideally this includes cross checking the FarmOS Seed Asset information against the USDA database record.
