A few weeks ago I attended DrupalCon in Portland! I wanted to share some sessions that are more relevant to farmOS as a distribution building an application on Drupal.
Recordings of the sessions are now on YouTube in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpeDXSh4nHjRye9v5rA62RG2Gg6AgwAds
- The Driesnote always gives an overview of the current state of Drupal and what’s ahead. I like the new vision that “Drupal is for ambitious site builders.” What does it mean for us building an application on Drupal? How can we carry this vision through to our users?
- Two inspiring keynotes on diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Standardized Drupal JSONAPI javascript client:
- Great presentation on the Commerce Kickstart distrubution, faces similar changes to farmOS. I would love to see a farmOS presentation equivalent to this 1 year from now.
- Less related to farmOS, but a great example of how powerful an improved content editing experience can be in Drupal:
- I heard this was a fun talk: Deploying from the year 2053 - The Future of the Web: DrupalCon Portland 2022 - YouTube
- @Farmer-Ed if you want to build plugins: Plugins to the Rescue! Decouple Your Code Without Losing Sleep: DrupalCon Portland 2022 - YouTube
- Building a GraphQL API - Beyond the basics DrupalCon Portland 2022 - YouTube
- Progressive Enhancements with VueJS widgets DrupalCon Portland 2022 - YouTube
There was also a nice talk on the current state of Drupal JSON:API but I don’t see the recording here.
